So wait, I had these wings all this time?

I'm not religious. I think religion for the most part negates itself and makes God look bad to non-believers. I am a believer. Hopefully you can understand the nuances of what seems to the unenlightened a contradictory statement. God has been transforming me into a pretty amazing person if I do say so myself and I owe that to the fact that I'm finally letting him to do so. The fact that he stayed with me, through all my wretchedness tells you a lot about what our Lord is all about. It also indicates just how serious your salvation is. He has made me privy to the fact there is much more at stake than any of us really understand, with regard to Salvation. The God I have come to know is not willing to easily lose a single, solitary soul, as much as most of would like to believe otherwise. Universal Salvation is his ultimate desire, not because he has made it law (don't get comfortable; he hasn't), but because he loves each of us too much to lose any of us. He loves Hitler, I hate to break the news to you. In order for his love to be as infinite as you and I are counting on, he would have to. Still skeptical? How would you feel if you witnessed a manifestation of the soul that was once housed in the mind and body of Adolph Hitler, realize the horror of his sins against humanity and fall to his knees in sorrow humbly requesting repentance? Is there such a thing as a sin too great to be forgiven? I think Crucifying The Man Himself was a pretty astronomical sin, yet because of the Divine Mercy of Christ, his regard for his torturers, humilators and killers was "Forgive them Father for they know not what they do." Unfortunately there is a limit to the amount of "time" (time being an element of human perception) and therefore it's best to operate as though you don't have an eternity to get your act together with the Lord. Chop chop. My path is rooted in the teachings of Christ and His Salvation. I believe that if you are truly "of Christ" refrain from lashing out in hostility toward those you consider sinners. We're all sinners. Focus on YOUR relationship with Christ and that will allow you to reach out to your fellow man in a way that is CONSTRUCTIVE and POSITIVE. If Christ were the same type of scary, frothing-at-the-mouth holy-roller who uses His name to viciously condemn, attack and invalidate others, we'd all be real screwed by now. I think it's a very good idea to pray to Jesus and thank him for demonstrating a magnitude of mercy and compassion that far too few of us seem able to duplicate. People who hold up signs that say "God Hates..." and viciously attack others-- their lifestyles, religions, etc., give the devil a warm and fuzzy feeling. Too many people use religion to shield themselves from what they FEAR and, not to bind themselves to what they LOVE. As Yoda says, "Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering." All those "God Hates..." morons do is inflict suffering on themselves by focusing on their own hatred and intolerance 24-7, inflict suffering on the targets of their intolerance, and suffering upon those of us who'd rather see others through the eyes of Christ and pray for them, rather than condemn them. It's just not our job. Why do you want the job anyway? It's too much effort to go around judging and condemning. We have enough on our plates.
